Hello !
I was born in South Korea and grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, attending an international school with an American curriculum. I am ethnically Korean, but I had few Korean friends and little connection to Korean traditions. I lived in Indonesia, but I did not look like the other Indonesians. I spoke English and understood Western culture, but I was not American.
Artistic expression became my way of navigating this in-between space. It gave me a voice when words felt inadequate, and it remains a practice I approach with humility and curiosity. While I find inspiration in poetry, literature, and music, I am drawn most to visual art. To me, imagery transcends borders and cultures, distilling the essence of human experience in ways other mediums cannot.
Today, I am a senior majoring in Illustration Design at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena. Here, I continue to develop my craft and explore the power of visual storytelling across various mediums. Each project is an opportunity to grow, connect, and create work that bridges different perspectives and experiences.
